WTF becomes TFW

New logo

The Wisconsin Tourism Federation has changed it’s name in an effort to remove the unfortunate acronym WTF from it’s logo. From now on, they are the Tourism Federation of Wisconsin.

Of course, someone maybe should have directed them to the Urban Dictionary entry for TFW before they picked that acronym. And as Brand New pointed out, why not just go with FTW which already has a positive connotation if you’re going to stick with the silly concept of making your acronym your logo?

If you Google “TFW,” you get a lot of hits about this logo. As someone with a passing interest in design, I would like to say that I hope they did not pay anyone for this rebranding. Their logo font is atrocious.

(I know this is kind of a lame post. All I can say in my defense is “stats test”.)
