La Follette School Student Association

Policy Roundtable

featuring

Professor Nils Ringe

October 13, 2010

5:15pm*

La Follette Conference Room

Professor Ringe of the Political Science Department will speak briefly about his research on legislative member organizations before opening the floor for discussion. Examples of LMOs include caucuses in the US Congress, such as the Congressional Black Caucus or the Alzheimer’s Caucus. These voluntary, informal, and mostly cross-partisan groups also exist in other legislatures. Professor Ringe’s research includes determining what their functions are in the legislative process.

~*~Fall snacks and drinks will be provided~*~

* Some classes do not get out until 5:15pm, but feel free to come late as this is quite informal.
