Hey new students!
We hope you are enjoying your last weeks of summer and getting excited to start the semester. LSSA has several events planned to accompany your new student orientation on Wednesday, August 28. We hope you will join us to kick off the new year!

Tuesday, August 27
12:30 – 3:30 Volunteer Event: Second Harvest Food Bank
Second Harvest Food Bank is a non-profit dedicated to ending hunger in southwestern Wisconsin. Join fellow Bobs on Tuesday for a volunteer shift!
We will meet at the La Follette house to coordinate rides and plan on leaving by 11:45. The shift is limited to 15 people so please RSVP as soon as possible. If we receive a lot of interest we may be able to add a morning shift. Please RSVP to Lacee at email@example.com.

5:00 – 7:00 Happy Hour at the Memorial Union Terrace
Join new and returning Bobs at the beautiful terrace located at 800 Langdon Street.
Wednesday, August 28
8:15 – 3:00 New Student Orientation
4:00 – 5:00 Meet up at the Memorial Union Terrace
Once you finish the math assessment, feel free to head over to the terrace. Continuing students will be there to walk the group over to the La Follette house for the potluck beginning at 5:00.
5:00 – 7:00 La Follette Potluck Picnic
Head over to the La Follette house to join faculty and students for a potluck. All food and beverages will be provided. You don’t need to bring anything but yourselves!
Thursday, August 29
9:00 – 2:00 Text Book Sale (Basement of the La Follette house)
3:00 – 4:30 Campus Walking Tour (Meet at the house)
7:00 – 10:00 Campfire at Picnic Point

Friday, August 30
11:00 – 5:00 Trip to Devil’s Lake
Devil’s Lake State Park offers miles of hiking, huge sandy beaches, and of course swimming! Meet up at the La Follette house to coordinate rides. We will plan to leave the house at 11:00. It is about an hour drive to the park. Please RSVP to Steph at email@example.com.
Note: In the event of rain, we will plan an alternative trip to Milwaukee. More details to come.
Saturday, August 31
9:00 – 1:30 Color Me Rad Run/Volunteer Event
Bobs will be volunteering and/or running in the 2013 Madison Color Me Rad 5K with all proceeds going to benefit the Ronald McDonald House! More details here.
We have signed up for volunteer spots to clean up following the race (from about 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and encourage Bobs to run if they’d like! If you RSVP to volunteer your running registration fee will be waived! Please RSVP to Steph at firstname.lastname@example.org or sign up on the Facebook event page.
3:00 – 7:00 James Madison Park
Finish up orientation week with a relaxing trip to James Madison Park. Enjoy sand volleyball, frisbee, or other games. Please RSVP to Steph at email@example.com.
