  1. Policy and a Pint with Tom Eggert

Tuesday, March 11, 5:00pm-7:00pm, Brocach on the Square, 7 W Main St

’95 La Follette Alum Tom Eggert will discuss his work with Wisconsin Microfinance, a non-profit he founded to help people in Haiti recover from the 2010 earthquake. He will discuss private sector investment in the developing world with micro loans and also some of the unwanted impacts of his work.

Edward Vargas, University of New Mexico, will present his talk titled Mixed-Status Families and Stress: The Effects of Risk of Deportation on Substance Use


3.  Foreign Policy Career Talk with Christopher Kolenda

Wednesday, March 12, 4:30pm-5:30pm, Union South Northwoods B

Join UW-Alum Christopher Kolenda, Senior Advisor, U.S. Department of Defense, as he discusses his work on foreign policy strategies with Afghanistan.
