1.LSSA Meeting
Monday, April 21st, 7:00pm, 6117 Social Sciences

Join the LSSA board for the April LSSA meeting! We will be discussing graduation, upcoming social events, merchandise sales, and meeting some the newly elected board members.

 

2. La Follette Pint Glass and Padfolio Orders Due

3. Money in American Politics Lecture
Wednesday, April 23rd, 4:00pm-6:00pm, 8417 Social Sciences

Thomas Ferguson, Professor of Political Science at the University of Massachusetts, will present this lecture titled “Money in American Politics: Theory, History, and Evidence.”

 

4. IRP Seminar with Elisabeth Allison
Wednesday, April 23rd, 4:00pm-5:30pm, 1310 Grainger Hall

Elisabeth Allison, Professor of Economics at Harvard University, will present this IRP Lampman Memorial Lecture titled “Neighborhoods vs. Schools”

 

5. IRP Seminar with Felix Elwert
Thursday, April 24th, 12:15pm-1:30pm, 8417 Social Science

Felix Elwert, Vilas Associate Professor of Sociology, will present his talk titled “How Neighborhood Effects Differ by Family Poverty and Developmental Timing”.

 

6. 2014 Roberta Gassman Distinguished Lecture
Thursday, April 24th, 5:00pm-6:00pm, Waisman Center Auditorium

Stephanie Luce, Associate Professor of Labor Studies and UW Alum, will present her lecture “Lifting Up Low-Wage Work”. This talk will address ways to address the low wage job crisis in the United States.
